I've been so absorbed in school and personal affairs that I didn't even notice that the season starts in just two weeks!

(And if you don't know what I'm talking about, then fie upon you. Fie, I say! Fie!)

I'm feeling the urge to write some more baseball poetry. Hopefully that will wash the bad taste of the so-called "World Baseball Classic" out of my mouth. Hopefully that abomination will die, never to be resurrected. What a joke.

(And no, I'm not bitter because we lost. Well, not too bitter.)

I'm excited! I have tickets to see my beloved Brewers decimate the D-Backs on April 8th! We're goin' all the way this year! My youngest daughter and her beau are going to see the Brewers play the Twinkies in the Twin Cities this spring. I love baseball!

Brew, my well-beloved Bill Spiers started with your team. Do you remember him? He was playing short in those days, I believe. I can't remember when he broke in, but he's about 39 now if I recall correctly, so probably in the late '80s.

I remember Bill Spiers. He was here in the 90's and is remembered fondly. I haven't looked it up but I believe he was on the '92 team which was the last one to have a winning season. Scrap Iron Garner was the manager :)

He's remembered fondly in Houston, too. Threw out the first pitch in a game there the year after he retired, and was very warmly received.
