well, one of the main reasons I like the Internet as a mode of communication is that it tends to be text-based and is therefore readily accessible to me. For instance, I prefer IM to the phone. Not that I can't use the phone, but IM is a lot easier (and actually, according to audiologists, I shouldn't be able to use the phone at all given my degree of hearing loss. Shows what they know). So with the increasing prevalence of YouTube stuff, Michelle Malkin's Vents, and so forth, I get a little frustrated when I can't fully participate in discussion of a topic.

Which isn't to say there should be an embargo. You guys post all the YouTube clips you want. I'm just griping, 'cause self-centered griping is what blogging is all about.

YouTube is a great service, but it can be addictive, and it's a too-easy way to put content on a website. I've found that I have to consciously ration the number of videos I'll let myself post.

Wait, is this Ardolino's blog? :>)

Good points, Mrs. Peel and Michael. YouTube can be quite addictive.

I usually use it for entertainment. Lots of good music and music videos.

I recommend the following two for some good South Asian entertainment: just watching them is good enough.

"Kaahe Chher Mohe" from the movie Devdas

"Main Vari Vari" from the movie Mangal Pandei

I never click on the YouTube posts anymore. It takes too long to load and the resulting commentary isn't very interesting. Most of it's kind of "heh"-level stuff anyway.
